The actress recalled encouraging her mom to watch 'The Parent Trap' in hopes of her parents "getting back together"
As a Parent Trap superfan, Margaret Qualley had a dreamlike encounter when her mother Andie MacDowell started dating one of the film's stars, Dennis Quaid.
The entertainer, in a meeting with Harper's Market, enjoyed the 1998 Lindsay Lohan film even a youngster she would urge MacDowell to watch it with expectations of her mother reuniting with father Paul Qualley.
MacDowell, 65, shares little girls Margaret and Rainey in addition to child Justin with ex Paul, whom she separated in 1999.
"I would let my mother know the amount I cherished The Parent Trap and be like, 'We ought to watch it. It's a truly brilliant film. They go with a ton of good choices in that film,' " said Margaret, presently 28.

Margaret recently talked about her genuine Parent Trap association while on The Late Show back in 2019.
"Being an offspring of separation, I very stuck onto The Parent Trap. I like the two forms, yet I was especially attracted to the Lindsay Lohan, Dennis Quaid variant," she said at that point.
Margaret said she would "hammer" that feeling in with her mother, expecting the film to reflect her own loved ones. She said she was "stunned" when she figured out MacDowell was dating Quaid.
She kidded that her mother "truly misjudged" what she planned to occur by upholding for Parent Trap — and faulted herself for the result.
